‘You can change how you feel about yourself and your life; you can change your world’

I offer a free confidential 15 minute telephone consultation.

I have worked in a number of different organisations.for over 23 years, providing support for clients in those settings. Now as a therapist, I provide a safe, warm space whereby clients can explore, at their pace, issues that are troubling them. The service is confidential, caring, compassionate and non-judgemental.

My role is to help you make sense of situations you may feel you are in and the feelings you may have by looking at patterns of behaviour, thinking processes and also explore early life experiences that may have a bearing on your present day responses. Our lives today can be stressful and it’s normal to feel a range of emotions and to get stuck in patterns of thinking and behaving. If that all becomes too much and starts to spoil your life and relationships, that may be the time to seek help and support to explore what’s going on inside you.

I have a personal interest in:

  • low self-esteem
  • depression and mental health issues
  • stress & anxiety
  • loneliness & isolation
  • relationship difficulties
  • feelings of never feeling good enough
  • traumatic events and family problems
  • loss & bereavement

I also offer specialised support for elderly people and family members where isolation and loneliness has set in for the elderly and helplessness and frustration may have set in for family members.

I have over 15 years’ experience of working with families and vulnerable people, helping to support and guide them to find a way through their personal challenges when they have felt completely broken and through care, knowledge and empathy their lives have been helped.

Over the years I have been into many homes and hospitals and assessed and worked with many vulnerable people. I took a holistic approach to assessing and helping clients and then deploying the necessary services and infrastructure to help clients lead a healthier and happier life. The success of my work was incredibly satisfying.

Working for a large charity for the past 15 years I looked after over 200 Clients. My ethos as a therapist is very much about providing people with a safe place to learn more about themselves and guide them in making the changes they may want to make to give them a more satisfying fulfilling life.

Prior to training as a therapist, I worked at The Priory Hospital for 8 years where I was responsible for the referrals from GP’s, initial patient assessments and selection & signposting to appropriate services and consultants. I later became responsible for the business development and marketing of the hospital. I worked closely with the addictions team and latterly with the eating disorder unit as it was launched.

Before starting my TA Diploma training, I studied Psychology to year 2-degree level and gained my Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Concepts & Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills in 2004. I gained my Certificate in TA 101 in July 2018.

I have undertaken numerous training courses in Management, Mental Health Awareness, Social Welfare, Referral & Assessments, Communication, Networking, Listening Skills and Confidentiality Boundaries and NLP throughout my career. Additionally, I received the QAVS (Queens Award for Voluntary Services) in 2016.

As a working mother of two teenage children, I fully appreciate the challenges we all face as individuals – juggling our roles as parent, partner, sibling, friend, carer or colleague. My varied career history and experience helps me to understand and connect with a wide variety of clients.

Please contact me if you have any questions. Currently I have day time, weekend and some evening appointments available.
