Workshops

room 3

At The Hale Village Therapy Centre, we run workshops throughout the year. Currently we are running or planning:

Parenting Teenagers. Two and a half hour Thursday morning workshops for parents, teachers and carers. Cost £35 per workshop. Next dates planned for Spring 2010

  • SETTING LIMITS - HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH - DATE TBA
  • Avoiding overindulgence: the modern day parent trap: the pull on parents to give or do too much; to be over-protective, to be scared of letting teens take risks; to find it difficult to be consistent with rules and boundaries leading to confusion and rows. Get some tips and learn some strategies in learning to set and maintain limits. Share your ideas with others.

  • SEPARATION AND LETTING GO - ENCOURAGING INDEPENDENCE - DATE TBA
  • What does it mean to allow our teens to grow up (and away from us) and when does that process start? Why that's hard for them and somtimes even harder for us! How we can encourage autonomy, self-reliance, personal responsibility and healthy independence. Learn about child development and how teenagers grow up and what they need us to do and what isn't helpful.

  • UNDERSTANDING AND MANAGING TEENAGE ANGER - DATE TBA
  • Why are teenagers so emotional and moody? Learn about latest neuroscience research into changes in the teenage brain. Understand mood swings and brain changes. Understand how to contain teenage anger and different levels of anger. When to be worried. And is a 'happy' teenager always a healthy teenager? The 'good' teenager - what might be going on inside. Explore your own views on expressing anger and how they were formed in your own childhood.

'Humanity's spiritual journey is a long and arduous adventure through strange lands full of difficulties and surprises'

(Roberto Assagioli)

Every psychological system provides a vision for understanding the self and making meaning of our experiences past, present and emerging.

Assagioli and psychosynthesis offer the vision that our experiences can also be understood in a psychospiritual context; as spiritual awakening and the soul journey.

Throughout the year we offer weekend workshops using the tools and processes of psychosynthesis to explore in depth all aspects of being human, our psychospiritual journey and the issues we encounter along the way.
