I am an experienced couples counsellor with 20 years experience working with people on their relationships. I have been trained by the nationally recognised organisation, Relate, and still work at Relate GMS as a couples counsellor. I have been with them 20 years so far.
I work with couples and individuals who are struggling with their relationships. Sometimes just having a safe, supportive and caring environment to talk in is enough to enable repairing.
I particularly like to do short term conflict resolution work with couples, looking at how you argue, levels of criticism, contempt and defensiveness. When a relationship is struggling couples can put a lot of energy into what their partner is doing wrong. I would work on how to create an atmosphere of respect and appreciation.
I am also a trained sex therapist.
Nothing stays the same, and if you have hit a really rough patch, come, talk and think about what you can do differently to help your situation.
