I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Psychological Society (BPS), the University and Colleges Counselling Association and the Society for Existential Analysis.  I bring psychological knowledge as well as an understanding of a range of therapeutic techniques to my work as psychologist/ psychotherapist. This doesn’t mean that I will be diagnosing you or labelling you. Instead, it means that I can help you in a flexible way, bringing an understanding of what it means to be human and how human psychology affects our ways of being in the world along with counselling and psychotherapeutic skills and knowledge.

I’ve worked as a counsellor/therapist since 2007, including time working with military personnel and their families, in the education sector and in private practice. My private practice clients come from all backgrounds and walks of life, and I am experienced in working with both individuals and couples.  I have edited/written two books in the field of individual and relationship counselling psychology reflecting my interest in developing the professional field I work in.

I only work online providing counselling to clients who find it easier and more convenient than working in the same physical space, or who, for example, travel a lot or prefer not to/can’t leave their homes.  Sessions take place via a Professional Zoom Account (which is like Skype or FaceTime but more secure, reliable and easy for you to use). I have been providing online therapy for 14 years and find it is at least as effective as face-to-face therapy. It does of course require you to have access to a safe, comfortable space where you can talk privately.  And having a cup of tea or coffee handy is also recommended!

To find out more about how we might work together, please either call me or email me (see details above).
