About me
I am a highly qualified and experienced psychotherapist/ counsellor and a registered member of the BACP having been in practice with Relate for 15 years and I also work in private practice.
Additionally I do some work for the MS society helping people come to terms with long term autoimmune conditions and the affects of that on their relationships and family.
I work in an Integrative way having the knowledge that one type of counselling does not suit everyone.
My specialist interests are, working with couples/individuals and children from age 10 years and I have set up several counselling services in schools, plus have delivered parenting courses, helping parents with the issues that affect young people today, such as, bullying, step families problems, divorce and separation, bereavement, anxiety and depression, self harm.
I have also worked in the NHS as a qualified midwife and have offered couples support around pregnancy, infertility issues and postnatal depression.
How will therapy help?
I will provide a confidential, warm friendly environment, with a listening ear, so you feel supported. I will provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can discuss issues, express your feelings, anxieties and your dreams.
Therapy is about learning and understanding the history of your problems which will provide you with a greater knowledge of the issues affecting your life now, therefore allowing you to make appropriate changes and decisions so you can move forward in your life.
